Oudega has suffered from floods several times. In 1825 a good part of the village was affected. It is after that that the Groote Noordwolder Veenpolder was dike (1835) and that peat was extracted in this polder. The church of Oudega, the John the Baptist Church dates from 1850, is also built on an elevation after the church was located on lower ground in front of it. In the 17th century, a new church had also been built after serious water damage. This beautiful work comes with a beautiful natural frame. It is painted in acrylic on hardboard and is protected with anti-reflective glass.
