  • Wierum is a village in the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân, in the province of Friesland. It originated on a wide mound that was raised on a salt marsh in the early Middle Ages. The mound was ravaged by storms by the sea where it lay nearby. Eventually, the northeastern part of the rectangular mound disappeared into the sea. This artwork is a preliminary study for a larger canvas. It comes with a beautiful natural switch frame. It is painted in acrylic on hardboard and is protected with anti-reflective glass.
